Audi's performance ladder is simple once you see it. A regular model gets an S version with more power, firmer tuning and sportier looks. A chosen few get an RS version from Audi Sport. That's where the most power and the wildest hardware live.

The RS 3 is a cult car for a reason

Its turbocharged five-cylinder fires in a 1-2-4-5-3 order, and that's where its one-of-a-kind sound comes from. Audi quotes 3.6 seconds to 60 mph. The RS torque splitter can send power to an individual rear wheel when you need it.

S models: the smart fast choice

The S3, S5 and SQ5 give you most of the fun with none of the compromise. They're the ones we spot most at weekend cars-and-coffee meets around Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
