Audi Q7 vs Q9: which three-row Audi belongs in your driveway?
Same 429-horsepower heart, very different footprints. Here's how Audi's midsize and brand-new full-size three-rows stack up.
One body, three personalities. Here's how to choose.

The Q8 is Audi's flagship two-row SUV, with a coupe-inspired roofline that turns heads in any Baton Rouge, Louisiana, parking lot. It comes three ways, and the gap between them is bigger than the badges suggest.
| 2026 model | Engine | Power / torque |
|---|---|---|
| Q8 55 TFSI | 3.0L turbo V6 | 335 hp / 369 lb-ft |
| SQ8 | 4.0L twin-turbo V8 | 500 hp / 568 lb-ft |
| RS Q8 performance | 4.0L twin-turbo V8 | 631 hp / 627 lb-ft |
All three send power through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic to quattro all-wheel drive.
Audi says the Q8 gets to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. For 2026, Audi packed more into the trims. Premium Plus adds ventilated front seats, four-zone climate, heated rear seats and soft-close doors. Prestige adds all-wheel steering and OLED (organic light-emitting diode) taillights. It also unlocks an optional Sport plus package with 23-inch wheels, sport air suspension and red calipers.
The V8 changes everything. It's effortless, and it sings. Audi says the SQ8 carries over mostly unchanged for 2026.
Six hundred thirty-one horsepower in a luxury SUV is absurd in the best way. Our RS and S guide covers the rest of the fast family.
The Q8 has two rows. Need a third? Look at the Q7 and Q9 instead.
